I know the game just came out and I'm probably jumping the gun a bit, but if you have plans for future expansions, I would like to see some anti-infantry weapons. I'm thinking something along the lines of "flamer-type" weapons that are especially deadly to infantry units, but perhaps short ranged and not so effective against other units. Also, what about a close combat weapon for the Mechs. I'm not talking about traditional weapons like swords or axes. If anyone here has played Chromehounds for the XBOX 360, they'll remember that you had the option to arm you Hound with hydraulic-powered Spikes that you would literally pile-drive into an opposing Hound. Very effective (bonus to ramming?), 0 range, and useless against Infantry.
In the Chromehounds game, I only made it work with one specific build. The hound was very fast (almost 300 Kph), had 3 linked Spikes (all hit at the same time) on each "arm," had next to no armor (speed was my friend), armed with 2 pretty wimpy machine guns, Thermal vision, and a pain-in-the-butt-to-aim smoke-bomb launcher. I'd move up on my target, spray them with the guns (I learned that being hit with weapons generated heat as well and made you easier to see on Thermal), hopefully hit them with the smoke bomb (to blind them as most did not use thermal), and hammer away as I made contact. Worked really good until we faced a group of "experts." 20 sec into the game, their "sniper" hit me from the right side with his sniper cannons--mind you I was at full speed by then, and stopped me dead. The second shot killed me. Ahh, the memories.

Wow... that's an interesting and unusual build there. Kinda makes me want to play Chromehounds...(grin)
Anti-Infantry - check Flame Throwers - check Mech Close Combat - uncheck... I'm not a fan of Mech Close Combat. I think of it like modern day tanks. Sure you could use your Tank to ram another Tank... it's just not a viable tactic and just generally not a good idea. I hope to encourage more combined arms tactics and flanking. Ramming was just a good idea for the game... just so you have something to do if all of your weapons get destroyed.

Fair enough and thanks for the reply

That makes Chromehounds sound really interesting, now if only I had a XBOX.
My wishlist for the future is rather small so far:
- Colored record sheets and rubble markers to match the miniatures

An idea about rubble markers. I'm thinking about making rubble with pieces of the Mechs/Vehicles--especially since I went a little crazy with a brand new blade and cut a bit too deep . . . Since I haven't built any yet, I'm not too clear on my ideas yet, but I will post a pic when I do.

Flamers shouldn't be too hard to add. I hope we don't see mech hand-to-hand. I like that AG seems to have a bit more grounding in plausible near future technology than some other mecha out there...
"detroyed" or rubbled units minis, now that would be fun.

I think VTOLs would be really neat to see in future releases. I'm actually working on designing one at the moment as I have an idea of how one might work, but I'm sort of new to the whole paper modeling scene, so we'll see. I'll post pics if I can come up with anything cool.
Artillery would be interesting to use as well with different sized blast tokens and whatnot. I'm not sure if I'd rather see infantry-based artillery pieces (like a howitzer) or vehicle-based (like the German Elephant tank from WWII or maybe the IG Basilisk from 40K). I say both! ;D
Any thoughts?

VTOLs - Yeah, that is on the list... just several projects down on the list unfortunately.
Artillery - I was thinking artillery was best implemented as an "off-board" asset... maybe something to buy with those few left over Bp's.

Hooray for the VTOLs! Nothing like annoying little gnats buzzing around for the mechs to swat! ;D
I'm wondering about the mechanics of how they would work in game, though. I would think that they could operate at varying levels (sort of akin to how they were handled in the defunct Wizkids MechWarrior minis game). How that would work out with paper minis, though, I'm not sure. I suppose you could just make separate minis with different stand heights, but I'd rather find a way to make it work with just one mini. You could just use number counters to represent the height level, but I'm more of a visual person. I'd rather see the mini be able to move up or down.
The gears are turning...

Possibly air strikes/strafes as well. I like the idea of air strikes. That could work out really well, but I still think I would like to see at least some sort of on-board artillery. Maybe mortar infantry teams as well as off-board traditional artillery?

As the title of the thread is "future releases" (and not "future units") i feel that i'm not OT saying that i really need Trees and Terrain features. Yeah, i know that hills are coming, but what i mean is that some 2.5D tree, rock, ruin, etc, just to build obstacles in the table with the same style of the game, would be cool. Then, while i like VTOLs and such, i'd like more more mechs: different shapes, different # of weapon joints, different "skills" and flaw, to have more choices.... so extralight mechs (scouts), absurd size mechs (Ogre-like scenario? ), arachnid legs or tracks.... after all, it's a Mech game

Your wish is my command! It's just taking a little while... The plan for the Terrain Expansion Pack is to include all the basic terrain elements of the game: Hills, Buildings, Water, Trees/Forests, Low Walls, etc. So far the Hills, Buildings, and Water are "finished" (just have to add some text and directions). Trees and Low Walls are at about 50%. Other items are in the works too, but those are top secret...

Just another suggestion: "modern" buildings (like, say, Monsterpocalypse)...perhaps rules for destroying them? Then we will do street guerrilla on mechs ;D
