I like the idea of a travel sized game! For your "microMechAttack" games will you still be using an inch ruler for ranges or change it to a smaller scale (maybe centimeters instead of inches?). What will you be using for bases?

I'm not sure about scale, but I'll probably switch to centimeters and try it out. I'm also not sure about basing. I'll probably go with 1 inch hex bases, but I'll need to find/order some. Wow... those are tiny... I like 'em.
As for the scale, it really depends on how much terrain you have to play with. If you have enough area you can use the rules as-is and the distances will be a little more "realistic" in terms of how far such weapons can reach. If you're limited on spacemaybe you can try halving the values (rounding up).

They are pretty nice. There seems to be enough detail on them too.
I've been working on a 3'x3' board made from 9 vinyl floor tiles. I've decided to make them double sided - one more rocks/gravel/dirt and one more grassy.
I'll probably start my microMechAttack games on the full board with distances as-is in the rules. If I want to go smaller, I'll probably use a 4 tiles with cm as the distance units.

I received the 6mm infantry/tanks/APCs from Plasmablast yesterday. I wasn't able to take any pictures, but will do that tonight and post them here.
First impressions - very nice. I really like the vehicles! The infantry is nice too, but very small.

Those look really good together. I can hardly wait to see them in paint.
I was going to compliment the kewl desert game surface till I realized we have about the same countertops here. In that scale, though, it looks incredible. Gotta be a way to use that.

chugosh - actually the minis are on one of 9 tiles I painted. I used some cheap office tiles from Home Depot for ~$0.80 ea, primed, spray painted a tan base coat, then used a sponge to add the other colors. The opposite side of the tiles is more green, but the technique was the same.

This is looking great... And the board looks good too. It looks like you could have a pretty decent game with just 4 tiles at this scale.

Dagger - I will probably only use 4 tiles with the 6mm minis and convert the distance units to centimeters. Now I just need to find the time to paint and actually play. That's the hard part.
