I just got my Silhouette SD from Craft-e-corner.com and I'll be installing and testing it out this morning. I'll let you guys know how it goes. If anyone else is interested in picking up a Silhouette SD Craft-e-corner.com is having a -->SALE<-- with the cutter price of $209 US. If you use the CRAFT2010 discount code at check out you save an additional 10%, bringing the price down to $189! I don't know when the sale or the discount code expire. Just so you know: We're not affiliated with Craft-e-corner in any way and the discount code come from www.retailmenot.com with a 67% success rate. We're not affiliated with Retailmenot.com either, but personally I never shop online without checking them out for discount codes first. -Matt

Okay, I figured it out. It looks like the PDF's that I downloaded from Wargames Vault are positioned too high. You can see the difference here: The top sheet is just a blank registration mark page to show where the default robo settings are, based upon the GSD files that everyone uses. This is just a shot in the dark, but I think the reason your test copies have worked so far is that you were printing from the Robomaster software; the GSD files as you were making them, and I'm printing from the PDF's. I'm going to try and fix the PDF's and send a copy to Waffle to test. I'm betting I can still use the ones I printed however, by chopping off the difference at the bottom. lol we'll see! Can anyone else with a robocutter print from the PDF's and confirm this before I commit to re-doing the layouts?

lol Okay, I'm replying to myself a lot here, but for the record, the pdf sizing does need fixed. You can see my test here. I trimmed off 1.5 cm from the feed side (the bottom) of the pdf prints and then just mounted em to my normal cardstock carry sheet. Works like a champ. I hope Waffle reads this before he gets frustrated trying to use his new robocutter! lol So all you (or I, if I get around to it first) gotta do, is slide the PDF's down by 1.5 CM. I have attached a Master Template PDF that I think I got from SquirmyDad a while back, with the proper alignment as well, if that helps. I'm gonna trim 1.5cm off all these prints, and get to cutting! Really stoked about this game guys; I LOVE mecha!!! Attachments:

Wow... thanks for the pictorial... it makes more sense being able to see what you're talking about. I ordered a cutter, but I won't be able to play with it until I get back... which probably won't be until next January sometime I'm anxious to hear what squirmydad and sirrob did to compensate for the registration marks...

When I originally set up the registration marks, I didn't use the "default" layout. I've used a slightly longer card stock carrier sheet. For future releases, I'll be using a different registration mark layout to better fit the cutter.

Hey all, the GSD's I built work fine with the pdf's, even though the marks are high on the printout. The trick that Sirrobo1 and I use is to position the printout higher on the carrier sheet so that there is carrier sheet 'underlap' on the top edge. The reason for this is that the high registration mark is so far up that the whole sheet will end up going through the rollers while it's checking that top mark. The other thing you have to do is to manually position the cutting head when you are initially searching for the registration marks.
Little extra effort, works fine though.

nice work squirmydad with getting these finished up and tested ...much easier reg marks to high craft knife + ruler and slice no more issue...just don't cut to much off as then robo complains they are to low

I think that it would be best if the PDFs were corrected, just to cut down on the frustration and to keep the product professional.

I think that it would be best if the PDFs were corrected, just to cut down on the frustration and to keep the product professional. I'm planning on doing a new layout of the miniature pages, but this has taken a back burner to other projects at the moment. Currently I've incorporated new registration marks in the Terrain Pack and I've been able to get the GSD files I've created to work fine with these (those files can be found HERE). Has anyone else tried these GSD files? I plan to use this registration mark layout on all future projects, so any feedback on these files would help out greatly.

Hi all. A request: can you pls group all the valid, tested GSD files in the "Miniature cutter files" section? it is a bit hard to understand what do download 'cause the various optimization, and also the search function does not allow word shorter than 4 letters, so searching for "GSD" did not work and it is necessary to browse the whole forum to find them..... thanks

The cutter files are found on the first two pages of this thread. I've created a new thread (found HERE) which at the moment just links you back to this thread. If there are any updates or new files, they should be posted at this new thread.
