Hi guys!
any chance you will make the individual troopers available in 28 or 30mm?
I like the looks of them, would like to use them for squad type games and RPG too.

I'm planning on working on releasing the troops in 30mm as soon as the terrain pack is done and the Mrs. and I have finished moving.
Speaking of the troops: I was thinking that I'd have each type be a page of six regulars, one communications specialist and one leader. Is eight enough figures?

Also: What size bases? What shape bases (I'm thinking hex and maybe octagon)?

I think the hexagon shape would be just fine myself as it fits with what you've already done with the game. The bases for the small mechs would be about the right size for 28-30mm. However, I know that other gamers use differently shaped bases. I was just looking over what Jim from One Monk has done and his line of bases would work well. Note: if you do not include the base tab like he does with his minis, all the builder needs to do is cut off the part of the base that would fold up (where you are supposed to reverse score). If players use his, then the work is already done and there is quite a variety of shapes/textures of 30mm bases and they are free. Just my $.02.

Eight figs on a page would be great. I prefer the hex bases. easier for me to cut out. Thanks for the reply Waffle. Look forward to the minis...

Is eight enough figures? 30mm figures are always useful, but I'm just wondering how far are you planning on taking it? Are we talking about a full conversion from Mech Attack meaning 30mm scale mechs as well as troops and vehicles (because that would be amazing) or are we just talking troops? Imagine the customization possibilities if the mechs were in 30mm scale. *maniacal laughter* ;D

Funny... for my first build, i printed all at 75% scale (450ppi instead of 300)... and you all are talking about mechs at 30mm scale

I plan on starting with just the troops and maybe the light mechs. I need to do some test builds on the mechs, but my gut instinct is telling me that the larger the mechs get the less impressive simplified 2.5 D minis will look. Mechs may need a lot of added detail and parts at 30mm scale.

Everyone who uses paper minis can use the troops in the 30 mm scale. The vehicles I think would also be cool in the same scale, just because of how they are constructed, tho some reinforcement would be needed to keep them from warping a bit at that size.
However, I think the Mechs might look a bit . . . anorexic at that scale if they were kept in their current form. They would need to be more 3D like the vehicles to look good, IMHO. Besides, I like the game in the scale that it is already in. My current playing surface is about 24"x34" and it gives 1 turn (at most 2) of manuvering before the action starts, which is good for our attention span!
I'm not saying don't do it, just that I'm very happy with the original scale ;D

I'm quite happy with the current scale as well, but I'm just saying if Armor Grid releases 30mm scale mechs, I'm going to be all over that!
