Just bought the game and love it!
Like many posts I've read I come from a BT background, loved the fluff, hated the number crunching! The only things missing from AG for me was the good old flamer and my favorite the PPc, CCW's and jump jets. Now having worked as a freelance games designer for GW once or twice in my youth, I humbly suggest these possibilities for the first two...
Use the laser stats for flamers, but apply the Dp as heat to the target!
Use the heavy laser stat for the Particle cannon, but also cause 5 heat to the target for an additional Bp as for twin linked!
Keep up the good work, RT.

Keep up the good work, RT. That's great... I'm glad you like it. I agree with you about the number crunching in BT. I understand they're trying to take more of a mech "simulator" approach... but that's just not for me. We are definitely working on a flamer-type weapon... and I'm toying with ideas for close-combat weapons and jump jets... but no guarantees though, I'm trying to make sure Mech Attack has a feel of it's own and not just a BT remake.

Just set them up as optional rules. Those that like them can use them as long as they understand that all players involved agree to their use.

Some sort of heat/flame weapon would be great. If it could be made good at the things real world flamethrowers do that would be even better. I'm thinking of clearing bunkers and burning away brush/forest/vegetation. Have it do heat to the target sounds in keeping with it.
