How many mechs would I need to create to have one of each kind possible? I want to make a completed, glued mech - one of each light, medium, and heavy.

Too many of them, I'd suppose. Better to leave the weapons interchangeable, imho.

With the new Mech Designs (seen HERE) there are a ton of options available. Three size classes, three different body designs, three different legs types (in three different poses giving seven different combinations), three different arm options, etc. By my estimation this would give 231 individual layouts for each of the size classes (I may have missed a few arm combinations in my count). Now add in all the different weapon choices and you really get a huge number of possibilities! I forgot to mention the the MechFactory gives seven different color selections, so you can mix and match colors too!

Whether this is thread necromancy or derailing or both, here we go: The multiple colors also will allow for the fun look of salvaged parts, like an odd colored leg on a mech, like it was damaged so badly that it had to be replaced by something else, or the captured heavy MG bolted onto the shoulder of the main mech. The mix and patch possibilities are endless! Cool for the long campaign sort of play as well as unplayed backstory.
I wonder if the OP has had any luck with his goal.
