I had a few hours of getting trounced soundly over on Mechwarrior online. I mean I got in a whole 24 damage in the whole six or eight battles I was in and got blown up all but once, and that time I hung out at the friendly base and never even saw an enemy mech. I have since been looking more at the boardgame end of the thing. I am terribly excited to see and play Mechwarrior Tactics, but I cannot afford the buy in for early closed Beta access. So I have both Mech Attack and a couple versions of Battletech on my computer (and I think I have the printed rules and a mech or two wandering around, plus a smattering of Mechwarrior Dark Age clickybase toys). I have to say after looking it all over again, I still like AG:MA best. Looking forward to upcoming stuff! I'll also put a plug in for the troops end of the game.

Mike - I agree about Mech Attack. I much prefer it to Battletech now. Of course, I haven't played Battletech for a number of years. When I left, it was still old-school (no Clans).
I had thought about getting the new Alpha Strike book since it's supposed to be faster playing. However, I'm sticking with MA.
