Had a great game tonight, 2 players in 2.5 hours. Each side gets 50 points. Each side has 1 base. I used the bunkers from here. They were made for Battletech minis (which we used). The buildings from MechAttach Terrain Pack will work as well if using MechAttach figures. Stats for the base are 40 armor, TP2, can hold 1 infantry unit. See rulebook for additional building rules. Base is placed 4" from edge, in middle of side. First side to destroy their opponents base wins.

I can see being forced to make the strategic choice of pushing the attack or falling back to defend my home bunker. Great idea.

With my 50 points I built 2 light mechs with 2 lasers, 2 missiles and upgraded engines. They rushed to the end of the table and then unleashed all weapons. I had a single heavy and three infantry to play defense.
My opponent had a medium vehicle he left in defense and then had 2 medium and 2 light mechs that moved towards my base.
I did win, but it could have easily gone the other way. By relying on light mechs to attack I put all my eggs in a very fragile basket. Luckily they both survived the journey there, they both got to fire all their weapons in a glorious slavo, and they both survived the 9 heat that generated. After all systems came back online they were both still alive despite the vehicle and a light mech that was trying to change that. Another glorious heat-soaked attack and victory was mine. Had my light mechs been less lucky my heavy and infantry would never have made the long, slow march to the base.
My opponent's strategy was to simply run forward and kill anything moving in the other direction. This gave him more flexibility then me and could easily have won. He had 1 light and 1 vehicle working on my lights and 2 med and 1 light trying to get to my base at the end. My heavy was taking all they could dish out and returning heavy laser and heavy missiles in return. I think if I asked him he would admit he should have concentrated more on my lights, then focused on his attack instead of trying to fight two fronts.
He had looked at fielding 10 light vehicles. Would have had to break out the Hot Wheels to have enough figs, but that would have been an interesting fight. Would have changed my heavy mechs name from "Goalie" to "Stompy".

I would consider equipping your Light Mechs with an RGMS, then have a couple of trailing vehicles loaded up with missiles. Use your Light Mechs to poke some deep laser holes and tag the enemy with the RGMS; you can then later activate the vehicles and launch some long-range missiles and hopefully land in the aforementioned laser holes and really do some damage.

Techpriest - that's a great scenario. It certainly makes you have to think about strategy/tactics. Thanks for sharing!
