Here are images of some of the test building concepts. The idea is to have two different sized pieces that could be single story buildings or stacked to form multi-story buildings. I'm not sure what I think of the corner covers...

I like the design concept. The corners make me think of them as "fortified" buildings for some reason--is that the image your after?

I like the design concept. The corners make me think of them as "fortified" buildings for some reason--is that the image your after? Yep, one set will be fortified (such as military buildings) and one will be more "civilian" in structure. Both types will use the same basic model design and just have different textures. Below are my first attempts at texture and details on the larger hex building. I think I'll include the corner covers but make them optional, based on the builders preference. The roof fencing needs a change as I don't really like the effect that the sky blue has.

I like the optional corner covers. A little detail that makes a big difference in how the building looks. Especially nice to have these optional.
As for the fence, perhaps you have put it on upsied down? try it with the blue at the bottom and see if it works better

Waffle - the buildings look great and I think they fit in with the style of the models really well. I agree with davethelost about the corner covers - they definitely look good.

I, too, like the corners on the "military" buildings. It's a nice touch.
