We've had the game for a while, but have just started playing. I bought some Risk 2210 mechs from ebay, just wanting some to represent small, medium, and large. We've designed a few mechs and played a couple of games.
Let me check a thing or two.
Once any weapon hits a critical spot, it doesn't matter how big it is, how many squares it hits, anything. The number of criticals you roll doesn't change (except for machine guns), and nothing ever adds to the critical die roll. I'm pretty sure by the rules that that's the case, but it does feel like some weapons should be more effective than others once armor is gone.
Also, when a weapon hits multiple armor blocks, does it only do more damage to the adjacent blocks if those blocks have not been hit? Say that a light machine gun it 4, 8, and 9. Then a light missile hits 5. I know it destroys an armor block on 5 and 6. Does it destroy another on 4, or not because that block on 4 was already gone?
I am glad to see some scenarios on the forum. That should be more interesting, too.
I took a machine-gun heavy force with two mediums and a light. My wife took a heavy and two lights, total of 30 BPs. I was concerned whether I'd be able to take out the heavy, but after a lot of machine gun fire, I destroyed all her mechs.
