Hey guys. Just picked this up and things look really good! Seems like it is just the right fit for "beer and pretzels with big stompy robots" niche. I did notice one thing, there's no entry for cannons in the main rules but they do appear in the weapons grid. Just for the sake of clarity it'd be nice for them to get an entry like the other three weapon systems. If only to again help clarify the armor blow out rules like the missile entry does.
Quick question. Does ECTS protect enemy units as well? Say an enemy model moves within 4" of my unit equipped with ECTS. Will I suffer the targeting penalty to fire at the enemy model? Is ECTS supposed to be represent just indiscriminate short range jamming or something more controlled where something like an IFF transponder would make my own units immune to the jamming effect?
One last question. When a crit says "ignore crits" are those points of damage simply lost or do you roll for them again?
Thanks for any help you can give.

I'm glad you like the rules, that's exactly what I was going for... a quick playing, easy to learn game that you could actually play. As opposed to a game that you never seem to be able to play because setup is too difficult or it is too hard to entice new players with complicated rules. As for your questions:
Cannons - The weapons listed in the rules text are intended for the basic game. The rules listed in the weapons table are intended to be used with the optional rule allowing custom mech builds.
ECTS - "The ECTS protects the equipped unit and ANY unit within 4” of the equipped unit" ANY = friend or foe... you could make a house rule that only protects friendly units, but you'd probably want to add +1 to the Bp cost.
Ignore Crits - When a Fuel Cell explosion says to "ignore crits", think of it as the explosion being directed more outward than inward. So if there is no armor at a location then the damage "escapes" out... so do not re-roll. When a Fuell Cell explosion says to "roll crits", think of it as a more serious explosion directed inward toward critical systems... this type of explosion can trigger multiple critical hits... very nasty (and funny).
